Website re-design - Skilly.ie

The client
Skilly is a re-skilling and learning platform to engage and train employees and students in essential skills. Launch not long before the pandemic in 2020, Skilly had to pivot and diversify their product offering. This needed a complete website re-design - they needed clarity and focus to target their audience.

Having previously worked with Skilly on a branding project, they asked for my assistance to consult and audit the current website, identify problems and deliver phased solutions to refresh the brand online. I worked on visual design and copywriting to highlight the new direction, products and reflect their growing online presence. Their developer custom-coded the site from my mock-ups.
As a startup, the owner required assistance in this re-direction beyond graphic design, so I consulted with them to fully understand their problems and their key target markets, B2B and B2C elements, which were new.  I completed competitor analysis and then commenced reviewing the current website for gaps and issues, with a focus on the user.

Client relationship, communication and trust was key here, to deliver the scale of the feedback, tear down the existing online presence and rebuild it, in a short time frame of 1 month.
Current website audit and development of web flow diagrams
When I had a basic web-flow diagram created and agreed with the owner, I consulted with the developer on the art of the possible, we moved onto copywriting, content collation and re-making any current assets - and then finally onto hi-fidelity mock-ups.
Hi-fidelity mockups
As the process continued, I also completed quality checks on the translation of mock-ups to live site and made adjustments where necessary to fit the code requirements, and also changing demands. Initial conversation to a relaunched website was a 2 month process.
